NXT Stand and Deliver (4/4/26) – Review (with Ratings) and Consequences

NXT Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley defeated Blake Monroe (3,5/5)

What to retain? What’s next? I love freaks. Tatum Paxley and her dollhouse are so unusually cool. Blake Monroe is also great not only in a ring, but also when she plays with the “Blake & Black” sides of herself. Paxley may be “strange,” but she has become a fan favorite. Monroe may be an excellent wrestler, but her character makes her even better.

Paxley was coming off like a superhero here, and it was fun to see her getting to do that for a change. The division needs some fresh stars, so why not see how far it can go? Then, what’s next for both of them? Monroe and the Vanity Project are not the best alliance to create. When it comes to Paxley, contenders will knock on her door soon. Kali Armstrong is coming to NXT. Why not Thea Hail, or Jaida Parker? I would love to see Paxley compete against TNA Wrestling’s Rosemary…

Tony D’Angelo defeated NXT Champion Joe Hendry, Ricky Saints, and Ethan Page to win the title (3,5/5)

What to retain? What’s next? Another fast-paced match here, with what was the most logical ending. I’m really not sure I can imagine Joe Hendry staying in NXT that much longer. Putting him on the main roster is hardly the craziest idea. If nothing else, it gives the fans someone new to cheer for, while D’Angelo gets his chance to run as a big star. Saints and Page were always going to turn on each other, and this was a good enough way to make it happen.

Hendry’s title reign had run its course, and someone new was the mission of the day. D’Angelo was that someone. If he lost, it may have entirely derailed everything he has going for him. Saints and Page losing is just another setback on what appears to be a path to greatness. Now, with D’Angelo as Champion, comes a fresh batch of match-ups and feuds to explore.

Tony D’Angelo is now a Grand Slam Champion in NXT following his championship win at Stand & Deliver. D’Angelo became the first person to hold the NXT Championship, the NXT North American Championship, the Heritage Cup, and the NXT Tag Team Championship. As I said last night, what is Phase 3? Phase One was destroying DarkState, done. Phase Two was becoming NXT Champion, done. What’s next, so? Only Tony D can tell us, and it should be on NXT on CW.

That’s all for the NXT Vengeance Day 2026 review. Till our weekly NXT “rendezvous,” may the Nygma be with you.
