TNA Thursday Night iMPACT Results and Review (2/26/26) – Something Rotten

The Nygma’s View

The Shadow of Eric Young

As I said in the preview, Mike Santana and Leon Slater have a lot on their plate. The TNA World Champion has a plethora of challengers waiting to dethrone him, including Frankie Kazarian, who was at the commentary table. The X-Division Champion became EY’s new cleanse project.

At TNA No Surrender, Steve Maclin assaulted Santana, and Slater had to win the match on his own. This time, Eric Young rushed ring-side, but Santana intervened, backing him off, giving Slater the chance to set up for the Swanton 450, but Nic Nemeth got the knees up, scoring the pinfall of three. Nygma says, Option C loading.

Dani Luna, more unhinged than ever

Léi Ying Lee and Dani Luna offered a great bout to the fans, but Luna didn’t change. She wrapped a chain around the top turnbuckle, ready to send Léi Ying Lee into it. The match continued, and Luna was on her way to winning the match. Léi Ying Lee crashed face-first into the chains on the turnbuckle, and Luna capitalized with a German Suplex for the win. Nygma says: Dani Luna doesn’t need that to be a great wrestler and a future Knockouts World Champion.

The Steel Chair show

Here are two wrestlers who can’t win fairly. AJ Francis needs a chair when Mance Warner needs Steph De Lander. Francis grabbed a chair, Steph de Lander interfered, and Warner hit Francis with the chair—the usual recipe. That’s the way it has always been. Nygma says, At this point, when it comes to Warner or Francis, a no-DQ or a Street Fight is the only way to make sure they give us a ‘normal’ match.

About Steph Franchomme

Steph, for Stephanie, is not only eNYGMAtic, charismatic, but also “très chic.” Living in France, her birth country, she broke the language barrier to become a respected writer and interviewer on many wrestling promotions. She has developed a very special bond with TNA Wrestling over time to the point of becoming an Authority on the company. The French Nygma, as she loves to call herself, has been a wrestling writer and editor for nearly a decade for SteelChair Magazine/Wrestling SC, TWM and Distortion Media. She has interviewed hundreds of wrestlers from WWE, MLW, TNA, NXT, AEW, and many more promotions. The Nygma is now the new “Authority” on TNA Wrestling and NXT for Last Word on Pro Wrestling. The writer/editor also runs @3WWrestling, her own platform.
