#2: The Rock vs. Ken Shamrock – Royal Rumble 1998
Before Ken Shamrock became a double champion in WWE, he had a long journey to become the Intercontinental Champion. At first, he was going at it against former champion, The Rock. At the start of 1998, Shamrock had to deal with the entire Nation of Domination before finally facing The Rock.
Rock and Shamrock did not fail to deliver when they had their first singles match against each other. Both men had such great chemistry in the ring that everything executed went smoothly. Holding this match at the San Jose Arena also benefited both men. The crowd was behind and engaged the whole contest. Although Shamrock lost via disqualification, the match was still enjoyable for the fans to see.
