3. Triple H Vs. Randy Orton – Royal Rumble 2005
For the third consecutive year, Triple H walked into the 2005 Royal Rumble as the reigning World Heavyweight Champion. The Game defended his title against former Evolution stablemate Randy Orton. However, there was a huge caveat as Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff banned Evolution from ringside. This occurred due to constant outside interference in JBL, Big Show, and Kurt Angle’s WWE Championship match.
In their series of matches, this title bout often gets forgotten bout. Both had their wooking boots on in a solid World Heavyweight Championship match. However, the Cerebral Assassin proved how good he was, and when the referee was knocked down, he attempted to use the sledgehammer but opted not to. In the end, the Game retained the World Heavyweight Championship once again at the Rumble by sealing the deal with the Pedigree.
