5. Kurt Angle Vs. Mark Henry – Royal Rumble 2006
Kurt Angle failed to win the WWE Championship in Raw’s Elimination Chamber match at New Year’s Revolution 2006. However, there was a curveball with Batista relinquishing the World Heavyweight Championship. A battle royal was held for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship, and the Olympic Gold Medalist prevailed.
Angle turned face, entering an underwhelming rivalry with Mark Henry over the World Heavyweight Championship. He returned to the blue brand as a full-time member once again.
Their match at the 2006 Royal Rumble bizarrely went on last after the 2006 Royal Rumble match and followed Edge and John Cena’s WWE Championship match. The match itself wasn’t good, and Angle nailed the World’s Strongest Man with a couple of earth-shattering chair shots en route to retaining the title.
Afterward, Undertaker appeared on a horse and carriage, and he let his intentions be known that he’s next in line to face Angle for the World Heavyweight Championship. The ring became detached afterward.
