Chris Jericho could return to WWE tonight, according to a major hint dropped by WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce. WWE Raw takes place in Brooklyn, New York, tonight for a special Stranger Things crossover event.
When previewing WWE Raw, Pearce asked who could ‘break the walls down’ and claim gold. Three championship matches are on the card for the first anniversary of WWE Raw moving to Netflix.
Pearce was referencing Jericho’s WWE theme song Break The Walls Down. The song itself is inspired by Jericho’s Walls of Jericho move. Jericho famously debuted in WWE when the Millennium Clock ticked down to zero in 1999.
With WWE Raw being a Stranger Things special tonight (1/5/25), WWE could incorporate the clock used to signal Vecna’s presence in the show to countdown to Jericho returning.
Jericho made his last appearance for AEW in April when he lost the ROH World Championship to Bandido at AEW Dynasty.
His contract with AEW is rumoured to have run out on January 1, 2026. Speculation is rife that Jericho could make a shocking return to WWE. Jericho left WWE in 2018. His final match was at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia.

AEW Career
He was a leading figure in the creation of AEW in 2019, taking on a veteran role backstage and helping the careers of younger talent. He was a certified star that brought credibility to AEW during its formative years. Jericho claimed he was a AEW ‘lifer’ and would never return to the WWE.
During Jericho’s time with AEW, he held the AEW World Championship, the ROH World Championship, and the FTW World Championship. He was voted as the Best Box Office Draw by readers of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter in 2019.
Last week, former WWE commentator Jonathan Coachman claimed Jericho would return at the WWE Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia, not on tonight’s WWE Raw.
