The WWE and TNA Wrestling logos as the NXT and TNA partnership reach its first year

NXT/TNA Partnership: Nearly a Year After, Who Made The Most of The Opportunity?

4- Invasion – Advantage TNA

When NXT talents appear on TNA iMPACT and steal some titles, and TNA talents fail at winning NXT titles, here comes the moment when it explodes. In these moments, TNA prevails. I pass on the Sheriff’s war between Santino Marella and Robert Stone. It ended up well for TNA’s DOA Marella at TNA Against All Odds.

On September 23, NXT Champion Oba Femi was facing TNA World Champion Trick Williams in a Winner Takes All Match. After the match announcement, many TNA wrestlers expressed displeasure over how NXT was treating them. So, what was meant to happen happened: TNA invaded NXT, preventing the match from having a real result. The week after, NXT ShowDown was announced. The show was epic. Team TNA defeated Team NXT, men-wise, but not women-wise.

What I expected to happen after ShowDown was to see more TNA wrestlers winning NXT belts, which would lead to an NXT invasion of TNA. It happened live on TNA iMPACT. The NXT Outlaws cost Mike Santana the TNA World Championship. The Cold War continued until last week’s iMPACT when TNA defeated NXT in a 10-Man Steel Cage match. Family prevails in TNA Wrestling.

About Steph Franchomme

Steph, for Stephanie, is not only eNYGMAtic, charismatic, but also “très chic.” Living in France, her birth country, she broke the language barrier to become a respected writer and interviewer on many wrestling promotions. She has developed a very special bond with TNA Wrestling over time to the point of becoming an Authority on the company. The French Nygma, as she loves to call herself, has been a wrestling writer and editor for nearly a decade for SteelChair Magazine/Wrestling SC, TWM and Distortion Media. She has interviewed hundreds of wrestlers from WWE, MLW, TNA, NXT, AEW, and many more promotions. The Nygma is now the new “Authority” on TNA Wrestling and NXT for Last Word on Pro Wrestling. The writer/editor also runs @3WWrestling, her own platform.
