Preview: AEW Rampage Feat Titles vs Trademark (10/21/22) – Full Card, How to Watch

AEW Rampage 10-21-22

All Elite Wrestling goes back home to Jacksonville for their last event from Daily’s Place of 2022: another live AEW Rampage. Between being back in their home, some of the matches, and one participant in the card as well as being a Friday night, there are Arena Mexico vibes here, for sure. Let’s run down what’s been announced for AEW Rampage, including a Titles vs. Trademark Match and much more.

AEW Rampage Card (10/21/22)

  • Penelope Ford vs. Willow Nightingale
  • Preston Vance vs. Rush
  • Titles vs. Trademark: The Acclaimed vs. Varsity Athletes
  • FTW Championship: Hook (c) vs. Ari Daivari

Someone Saw She-Hulk

The leading match on the card would be the third high-profile ‘Lucha de Apuestas’ of the week given there were two just last Saturday at AAA’s third TripleMania XXX event. Pagano and Cibernetico gambled their hair while Pentagon Jr and Villano IV gambled their masks. On this occasion, we have The Acclaimed wagering their AEW World Tag Team Championship in a Titles vs. Trademark Match on AEW Rampage. Their opponents, Tony Nese and Josh Woods, who have now been dubbed The Varsity Athletes, are wagering… The rights to scissoring. It would appear Tony Khan watched She-Hulk given it’s almost, beat for beat, the plot of one of its episodes.

Regardless, The Acclaimed have one more title defense before finding out who their (or The Varsity Athletes, if they win) opponents will be at Full Gear on AEW Dynamite; Swerve In Our Glory and FTR will face off for that right. As for this night, we should get a pretty solid match. Although we have been warned: Smart Mark Sterling might rap.

The Obsession Continues

Andrade El Idolo’s shenanigans with Sammy Guevara have made this story spin its wheels now; as for no real reason, it’s now Rush and Jose The Assistant trying to recruit Preston Vance of The Dark Order. With Andrade, we would see the pattern, as he tried recruiting Darby Allin, bought out the Hardy Family Office, and tends to act like a businessman. But the always chaotic Rush as an entrepreneur? Regardless, he and 10 clash to continue this story.

One has to wonder what the original plan was; Vance’s match with Andrade weeks ago was meant to either have Vance join Rush and Andrade or see Andrade leave AEW. Given the current status of Andrade, it’s safe to say that the original result was meant to have Preston Vance lose. Let’s see how AEW navigates now after being forced to change plans once.

Nightingale’s Revenge?

One month ago, Penelope Ford was able to defeat ever-popular Ring of Honor alumni Willow Nightingale with the Muta Lock on Rampage. A rematch has since been made between the two. Despite the constant losses, Nightingale remains popular with the fans, something that may place very well in AEW’s home base. Meanwhile, Ford has been able to remain a solid presence in AEW’s women’s division, though as of late, she’s been teaming often with her husband, Kip Sabian on AEW Dark & Elevation, in particular, pushing to go after Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo’s AAA Mixed Tag Team titles.

Trust Busted

We have a singles title match scheduled as Hook defends his FTW Championship against Ari Daivari, the head of the Trustbusters. This is after Daivari offered Hook $50,000 to buy the FTW Championship. However, Hook wasn’t about to sell his family’s legacy, instead tearing the envelope and check. Hook is willing to put the title on the line to beat up Daivari. That is, if Daivari doesn’t try anything funny with his group around.
