#AndNEW: The Fixers Win NWA United States Tag Team Championship at NWA 74

The Fixers NWA United States Tag Team Champions

On Night 2 of NWA 74, the recently revived NWA United States Tag Team Championship was contested for in a 12-team battle royal. From The Miserably Faithful to The Ill Begotten, this particular match featured many teams on the independent scene, in addition to those that have been regularly featured on National Wrestling Alliance programming. However, the two men that stood tall at the end of the match were Jay Bradley and Wrecking Ball Legursky. Outlasting 11 other teams, The Fixers stood victorious in St. Louis, Missouri as the first men to be crowned NWA United States Tag Team Champions in two decades.

What to Know Following Tag Team Title Victory at NWA 74

Given their combined bruiser approach, it should come as little surprise that The Fixers performed well in this tag team battle royal. Ultimately, the match came down to The Fixers and Team Ambition, the duo of Mike Outlaw and Camaro Jackson. Despite Outlaw and Jackson’s best efforts, they found themselves eliminated at the same time by Bradley and Legursky. It’s also worth noting that this victory marks the first tag team title win for The Fixers, as a duo, across all promotions.

Contested for in the NWA, Jim Crockett Promotions, and elsewhere, the NWA United States Tag Team Championship’s legacy dates back to 1950. Several notable teams, including The Steiner Brothers, The Fabulous Freebirds, and The Midnight Express, won the titles at different periods. However, The Midnight Express may have the most impressive time with the titles, as they held them on 3 occasions for a cumulative reign of 511 days. Time will tell whether The Fixers achieve similar success with the newly revived titles.
