Per Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the National Wrestling Alliance is set to introduce the NWA Women’s Television Championship on its programming. Johnson reported that the announcement will be made on the upcoming episode of NWA Powerrr, and it will be formally announced by WWE Hall of Famer Madusa. It’s also been said that the title is being designed by NWA Owner and Promoter William Patrick Corgan and Dave Millican, the latter of whom is well-known for title belt production. There’s no set timetable for when the NWA Women’s TV Championship will be introduced, though it could be as early as NWA 74, which is set to take place next month.
NWA Women’s TV Championship Reportedly Set
What to Know Regarding Report of New Women’s Title
According to Mike Johnson, it’s been rumored that the NWA women’s TV title will be a vehicle to help push Allysin Kay. In addition to being a former NWA World Women’s Champion, Kay is a former NWA World Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Marti Belle; together, they’re known as The Hex. The two won the revived women’s tag team titles at last year’s NWA EmPowerrr, emerging victorious in a tournament.
It’s important to note that the NWA Women’s TV Championship will mark the eighth championship under the National Wrestling Alliance umbrella. Furthermore, it’s fair to assume that it will function similarly to the TV title in the men’s division, currently held by Tyrus. With the latter title, after seven successful defenses, the champion can relinquish the TV title for a shot at the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.
