Ring of Honor returns to the wrestling world with ROH Supercard of Honor 2022. This will be the first ROH event since the shocking announcement of Tony Khan purchasing the promotion. Jonathan Gresham and Bandido will unify the ROH World Title in the main event of the evening. The most decorated tag team in the history of ROH, The Briscoes will defend their ROH Tag Team Titles against FTR, in a pivotal match of the card. Unfinished Business
The Briscoes defeated The OGK to become ROH Tag Team Champions for the 12th time in their careers at Final Battle. After the bell rang Jay Briscoe addressed the ROH fans that were live in attendance. He promised it was not the end of the Briscoes even though the future of ROH was in question, and promised to defeat any tag team that wanted to step in the ring with the Briscoes. The lights went out in the arena and FTR appeared on the ring apron. A brawl broke out between the two that had to be separated by security. The animosity was so intense between the two that they broke through security multiple times to get their hands on one another.
The two teams have not had an official match together since the encounter last December. Now Tony Khan has made it official. The Briscoes will defend their ROH Tag Team Titles against FTR in a first-ever match between the two. The Briscoes will certainly have the home-court advantage as they have been an integral part of ROH since its inception. Title Unification
Bandido became the ROH World Champion at Best in the World 2021 when he defeated RUSH. His title reign saw him defeat the likes of Alex Zayne, Flip Gordon, Flamita, Brody King, and more. When the news came down that Final Battle 2021 would be the final chapter for the previous era of ROH, it was decided that Bandido would defend the title against Jonathan Gresham. Unfourtanently Bandido tested positive for COVID-19 and was pulled from the card.
This left Gresham without an opponent. Jay Lethal who has been dubbed “The Franchise” of ROH, stepped in to take on Gresham. During “Hour One” of Final Battle, it was announced that the match would be for the original ROH Title Belt. After a hard-fought back and forth match, Gresham came out victorious. Both Gresham and Bandido have been defending their respective titles across various independent wrestling companies.
