Tony Khan Purchases Ring of Honor

During his ROH announcement, which took place live at Daily’s Place, Tonky Khan referenced that AEW started in the parking lot of Daily’s Place. He then announced the match that would open Dynamite is rich in ROH history. Bryan Danielson squared off with Christopher Daniels with Paul Turner as the referee in the opening contest. The wrestlers began the match with a Code of Honor handshake.

Danielson and Daniels were both part of the inaugural Ring of Honor event – The Era of Honor Begins in Philadelphia just over 20 years ago. They were both in the main event, losing in a triple threat to Low Ki. In a press release released by ROH, it clarified that Khan purchased the video library, brand assets, intellectual property, production equipment, and more from Sinclair Broadcast. More details about the acquisition will come in the coming weeks.

Ring of Honor is scheduled to return with Supercard of Honor on April 1st. Jonathan Gresham and Bandido will unify the ROH World Titles in the main event. They are also inducting their first Hall of Fame class later this month with The Briscoes, Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, and CM Punk being inducted.
