Natalia Markova Paola Blaze NWA Powerrr 2022

Natalia Markova Makes Her NWA Powerrr Debut

As mentioned earlier, the first NWA Powerrr of 2022 will see Natalia Markova’s in-ring debut on the long-running show. For those that are unfamiliar, Markova is a Moscow-born wrestler that made her official debut back in 2007. She began wrestling in her home country, though by the early 2010s, she began taking her talents internationally. From Japan to the United States, “The Russian Crush” built a name for herself on the independent scene. 2021 was especially kind to Markova, as she won gold in CLASH Wrestling, Pride of Wrestling, and SHINE Wrestling all within November of that year. Suffice to say, she will be looking to make 2022 even more successful, starting in the NWA. On this week’s show, she takes on Paola Blaze, not only of NWA but 90 Day Fiance fame, in singles competition.

Austin Idol Cyon

What Challenge Does Austin Idol Have for Cyon?

NWA Hard Times 2, which took place last month, didn’t end quite the way Cyon anticipated. At this event, the masked man challenged Tyrus for the NWA World Television Championship. Cyon gave this match his all, having the powerhouse on the proverbial ropes on a number of occasions. However, due to circumstances beyond his control, including Tyrus’s allies in BLK Jeez, Jordan Clearwater, and Austin Idol, Cyon was unsuccessful in seizing gold from the champion. On the first NWA Powerrr of 2022, Idol will address Cyon with a “challenge.” The question heading into this week’s episode is, what will this challenge entail? Will it be the stepping stone Cyon needs to achieve his goal, or will it be his downfall? Tune into tonight’s show to find out.

The Quest for the NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship Continues

This week’s NWA Powerrr will also be notable in that it will further the eventual crowning of a new NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion. Late last year, it was announced that the National Wrestling Alliance would be reviving its junior heavyweight title, its new champion being crowed via a tournament. The proverbial road toward this goal began at Hard Times 2. During the pre-show, Homicide emerged victorious in a qualifying gauntlet match. On the show proper, Austin Aries bested Rhett Titus in singles action to advance. This week, 4 men compete in a match to determine who will advance next. Becoming a champion is no small feat, so it goes without saying that either Miguel Robles, Jeremiah Plunkett, Jamie Stanley, or Alex Taylor could greatly benefit from a victory here.
