Preview: NWA Powerrr (7/27/21) – The Champions Series, Part 2

NWA Powerrr 7/27/21

Last week, on NWA Powerrr, the teams were established for the National Wrestling Allliance‘s Champions Series. Promoted as a new points-based tournament, this endurance pits four teams against one another. The end game is simple: to seize opportunities at championship gold. Each 5-person team will be led by co-captains, one being a current NWA titleholder and the other considered a “legend” in wrestling. This week, the action proper will be underway. Before the action takes place, let’s take a look at the confirmed teams and run down the action set for tonight.

NWA Champions Series – The Teams

Bracket A

Team Captains Kamille and Austin Idol: Thom Latimer, Mims, Kenzie Page, Kratos, and Sal Rinauro

Team Captains Aron Stevens and Taryn Terrell: Marshe Rockett, JTG, Lady Frost, Tyrus, and Jordan Clearwater

Bracket B

Team Captains Pope and Velvet Sky: Jennacide, Trevor Murdoch, The Mystery Man, Jax Dane, and Colby Corino

Team Captains Nick Aldis and Melina: Skye Blue, Fred Rosser, Crimson, Slice Boogie, and Jeremiah Plunkett

NWA Powerrr Card (7/27/21)

Bracket A Match: Thom Latimer vs. Marshe Rockett

Bracket A Match: Mims vs. JTG

This week’s NWA Powerrr kicks off with Bracket A action, pitting Strictly Business‘s own Thom Latimer against the up-and-coming Marshe Rockett. The second Bracket A match will see Mims, another rising star in the NWA, taking on JTG. It’s important to note that while there are no ongoing feuds involved in these particular matches, as mentioned earlier, championship gold will be on the minds of competitors. In the case of JTG, recently missing out on becoming crowned the NWA National Champion may motivate him that much more. Expect these matches to help set the pace for the rest of The Champions Series.

Bracket B Match: Skye Blue vs. Jennacide

Bracket B Match: Fred Rosser vs. Trevor Murdoch

Speaking of individuals that have missed out on champions, enter Trevor Murdoch. The southern-born, southern-bred brawler challenged Nick Aldis for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship at last month’s When Our Shadows Fall event. Despite a valiant effort, Murdoch was ultimately the victim of various circumstances beyond his control. In Bracket B, he will battle Fred Rosser, who recently found himself in the National Championship scene as well. In women’s action, Skye Blue and Jennacide, who debuted in the company together, will do battle. Given that Jennacide emerged victorious in their previous encounter, expect Blue to be that much more motivated in The Champions Series.
