Gatoh Move ChocoPro #93 Card – Best Bros vs. Beauty as Is (3/7/21)

ChocoPro #93

The wrestling world has not been short on exciting news as of late. First, the AEW World Women’s Championship Eliminator Tournament saw its conclusion. Ultimately, it was routine ChocoPro guest star Ryo Mizunami that emerged victorious, punching her ticket to a title shot at AEW Revolution. Second, the Max Heart Tournament held by Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling reached its own finale, with a familiar-looking maid and her tall, slender partner claiming the trophies. Third, the Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling founder, Emi Sakura, recently appeared for one of the biggest wrestling companies in Japan, World Wonder Ring Stardom.

It has been quite some time since the last episode of ChocoPro, but as usual, Gatoh Move has returned with a solid card in place. This show will host two tag team affairs within the confines of Ichigaya Chocolate Square. This show will also see the reigning Asia Dream Tag Team Champions take on a team with a checkered past to them. Without any further ado, let’s take a deep dive into episode ninety-three of ChocoPro.

ChocoPro #93

Sayuri and Chon Shiryu vs. Chie Koishikawa and Tokiko Kirihara

In this opening match, ninja stars and kung fu specialty will come together. Sayuri has become more of the more elusive, deceptive competitors on ChocoPro since her character revamp. Utilizing her environment to her advantage, Sayuri is adept at stealth, attacking her opponents when they least expect it. On this episode, she will team with Chon Shiryu, who continues to compete across Japanese independent promotions. However, he’s been a frequent ChocoPro competitor, having most recently competed on episode eighty-five this past January, when he faced Masahiro Takanashi in an exhibition match.

Despite their combined strengths, Sayuri and Shiryu will have to take on a unique team in the form of Chie Koishikawa and Tokiko Kirihara. Between Koishikawa’s energy and exuberance and the hard-hitting offense of Kirihara, it’s difficult for opponents to properly prepare. Keep in mind that they have teamed in the past, too. Their most recent two-on-two match saw them battle Best Bros on episode eighty-four, albeit in a losing effort. Can this unique combination be enough to net them a win, especially for Koishikawa, who has struggled to come out victorious in competition as of late?

ChocoPro #93

Best Bros (Mei Suruga and Baliyan Akki) vs. Beauty as Is (Yuna Mizumori and Emi Sakura)

To say that Mei Suruga has had a busy couple of weeks would be an understatement. For proof of this, look no further than the aforementioned AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament. Though she lost to Yuka Sakazaki in her first-round match, Suruga returned to AEW programming for a big six-person tag team match. Alongside Rin Kadokura and Hikaru Shida, Suruga picked up her first AEW victory against fellow Gatoh Move star Emi Sakura, VENY, and Maki Itoh. On this upcoming episode of ChocoPro, Suruga will reunite with Baliyan Akki. The Asia Dream Tag Team Champions have a tall challenge ahead, however, in the form of Beauty as Is.

The duo of Yuna Mizumori and Emi Sakura, collectively known as Beauty as Is, has been nothing short of interesting. During ChocoPro’s short history, they have gone from bitter rivals to capable tag team partners. In fact, despite their differences, it’s not unfathomable for them to get on the same page and pick up a win together. Furthermore, Sakura is coming off a massive wave of momentum. She recently competed in the All-Star Rumble for Stardom’s 10th Anniversary Show. In addition, Sakura was flanked by her Gatoh Move proteges, as if she was the queen leading her loyal subjects. Can this momentum help Sakura, as well as Mizumori, pick up a win over Gatoh Move’s titleholders? Tune into this upcoming episode of ChocoPro to find out.
