Preview: Gatoh Move ChocoPro #74 – Holiday Special (12/25/20)

ChocoPro 74

The holiday season is upon us and Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling is set to hold a very special episode of ChocoPro. Not only will this episode feature many of the established Gatoh Move stars, but we will also see a few old favorites from across Japan return. Furthermore, this holiday episode marks the ChocoPro debut of a Japanese wrestling veteran with over a decade of experience under his belt. Here is what fans can expect on the ChocoPro holiday special episode.

Emi Sakura and Sayaka Obihiro vs. Chie Koishikawa and Chris Brookes

As two pillars of the pillars of Gatoh Move, Emi Sakura and Sayaka Obihiro have proven to be a formidable pair. Case and point, on the previous episode of ChocoPro, they bested the duo of Lulu Pencil and Mei Suruga. They have also scored multiple victories over “Too Much Energy” Chie Koishikawa in tag team action. However, this upcoming tag team encounter may prove more advantageous for the recent full-timer, as she has a partner that boasts size and ability alike.

Chris Brookes will be making his first ChocoPro appearance since episode sixty-three. Last month, he teamed with Yuna Mizumori to defeat Pencil Army‘s Sakura and Lulu Pencil in an I Quit Match. Since then, Brookes has remained with Dramatic Dream Team, even competing in the D-Ou Grand Prix tournament. Brookes is one of the most dominant competitors in Gatoh Move; seldom has he come up short in Ichigaya Chocolate Square. Perhaps this will help Koishikawa pick up a major victory on the ChocoPro holiday special.

Lulu Pencil vs. Antonio Honda (Christmas Death Match)

What exactly is a “Christmas Death Match?” One will have to tune into this upcoming episode of ChocoPro to find out. However, if there is one individual that can make the most of a seemingly silly gimmick, it would be Antonio Honda. No doubt accompanied by the sly Gon the Fox, Honda will enter this match with momentum on his side. On the previous episode of ChocoPro, he defeated the show’s “Ace,” Baliyan Akki, in singles competition. Honda will enter this episode with festive cheer, looking to continue said momentum against the Pencil Army commanding officer.

Lulu Pencil is no stranger to unorthodox gimmick matches, either. On episode seventy-two, she battled Minoru Fujita in a match that featured everything from tiny building blocks to lightsabers. Though the ChocoPro season 4 MVP came up short, this encounter showed that she was able to adapt to unique environments. Perhaps this experience will come in handy as she goes into battle against Honda. Who will come out victorious in this Christmas Death Match? Regardless, it should prove to be nothing short of a spectacle.

Best Bros (Mei Suruga and Baliyan Akki) vs. Yuna Mizumori and Hikaru Sato (ChocoPro Debut)

For several episodes, Best Bros have had a primary goal in mind: to become Asia Dream Tag Team Champions. Their feud with current titleholders Emi Sakura and Kaori Yoneyama, collectively known as Reset, has grown hostile. However, on this holiday episode of ChocoPro, Best Bros will have to set title ambitions by the wayside, as they face a unique challenge. On one side of the equation stands Yuna Mizumori. Gatoh Move’s “Pineapple Girl” has recently become a licensed driver, but her formidable nature has remained intact. From ChocoPro to even Actwres girl’Z, Yunamon has been picking up wins at each turn. To combat Best Bros, Mizumori will team with a star making his ChocoPro debut.

Hikaru Sato is a seasoned grappler with martial arts experience on his side. The legit Sato started his career in 2008 for DDT, where he won the Ironman Heavymetalweight, KO-D Openweight and KO-D Tag Team titles on separate occasions. From there, he saw success in promotions such as All Japan Pro Wrestling, where he became a two-time AJPW World Junior Heavyweight Champion. On top of these accomplishments, Sato was trained by Minoru Suzuki; this speaks volumes about the ferocious offense the former brings to the table. Though Sato will make his ChocoPro debut on this show, he’s made appearances for Gatoh Move since 2013, with his last appearance taking place in October of 2019. The unique tandem of Mizumori and Sato will prove to be a different obstacle for Best Bros.
