Preview: UWN Primetime Live – Episode 8 (11/3/20)

UWN Primetime Live Miranda Alize Heather Monroe

Last time on UWN Primetime Live, fans witnessed perhaps the most shocking event in the show’s young history when the NWA World Women’s Championship changed hands. We also saw action in the UWN World Title Tournament, which will continue on this week’s show. Who will advance? What match-ups will be made as a result of independent and up-and-coming stars vying to become the inaugural titleholder? Here is a rundown of what to expect on this week’s loaded episode of UWN Primetime Live.

UWN Primetime Live Miranda Alize Heather Monroe

Miranda Alize vs. Heather Monroe

Last month, on episode six of UWN Primetime Live, Miranda Alize debuted with a major win over Christi Jaynes. Hailing from Houston, Texas, Alize has been making her rounds in women’s wrestling since 2014, appearing everywhere from SHIMMER to World Wonder Ring Stardom. However, on this episode of Primetime Live, Alize will be up against the “SoCal Queen,” Heather Monroe. The last time Monroe appeared on the show was episode 5, when she defeated Elayna Black. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the “Killer Bae’s” appearance will be the presence of her enigmatic manager, Halston Boddy. The clash of styles between Alize and Monroe should make for an interesting encounter.

UWN Primetime Live Fred Rosser Karl Fredericks

UWN World Title Tournament Match: Fred Rosser vs. Karl Fredericks

The UWN World Title Tournament rolls on with not one but three matches. Among the bouts in question will see Fred Rosser challenge Karl Fredericks. Many wrestling fans may know these men from their multiple appearances on NJPW STRONG. Ironically enough, they have never touched on the show in question, meaning that episode eight of Primetime Live will be their very first singles encounter. While Rosser has experience and technical acumen on his side, Fredericks has developed a wrestling style based on hard-hitting offense. Given that Fredericks has learned under NJPW’s own Katsuyori Shibata, this should come as no surprise. When it comes to the UWN World Title, one must wonder which NJPW STRONG competitor wants it more.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. Mike Bennett

UWN World Title Tournament Match: Davey Boy Smith Jr. vs. Mike Bennett

Among the words that can be used to describe Davey Boy Smith Jr. would be “legacy.” The former WWE RAW Tag Team Champion has carried his family name with pride across various promotions. From Major League Wrestling to Game Changer Wrestling and beyond, Smith will be making his UWN Primetime Live debut on this episode. The third-generation star will be up against a formidable challenge, however, in the form of Mike Bennett. Currently on a redemption tour of sorts, Bennett made his Primetime Live debut on episode six, besting JR Kratos. With this, one shouldn’t count Bennett out of this tournament. These two former WWE stars have championship gold on the mind and will do anything to make history.

Eric Redbeard Watts

UWN World Title Tournament Match: Eric Redbeard vs. Watts

Standing at an imposing six foot eight, Eric Redbeard is among the most physically intimidating competitors UWN Primetime Live has seen yet. He also brings a fair amount of success with him, giving the fact that he held tag team championship gold in WWE four times. Furthermore, Redbeard will be making his debut on this show. However, if Watts has any say, it won’t be a debut to fondly remember. The last time Watts was on Primetime Live was episode four, where he teamed with “Da Pope” Elijah Burke in a winning effort against EFFY and Zicky Dice. Can the “World Breaker” continue his winning ways en route to the UWN World Title? For wrestling fans that are itching to see a good hoss fight, this clash between Redbeard and Watts fits the bill.

UWN Primetime Live Lio Rush

Lio Rush Debuts on UWN Primetime Live

Lio Rush has come to collect in his UWN Primetime Live debut. The self-proclaimed “Man of the Hour” has been making waves on the independent scene in 2020. Last month, at GCW Joey Janela’s Spring Break 4, Rush bested ACH in a high-octane contest. Rush may talk a big game, but once the bell rings, he is able to back up his words. The question remains: what awaits the “25-Year-Old Piece of Gold” in his UWN debut? Who will he challenge? Rather, which competitor in the UWN locker room will step up to the plate? Regardless, when this high-flyer steps in between the ropes, expect a match to remember.

UWN Primetime Live Episode 8 is available for pay-per-view Tuesday night at 8 PM on FITE.tv.
