Brazil were well below par in their first game at the 2026 World Cup against Morocco. They did show flashes of their quality, with Vinicius Jr scoring a well-taken equaliser. After the below-par performance last time out, it’s easy to see Ancelotti making plenty of changes as the ‘Canarinha’ look for their first win of the tournament.
At the pre-match press conference, Brazilian defender Danilo spoke about the team: “Today we’ve probably got 80% of the team sorted for Friday’s match, and there are three or four players who are still up in the air.”
Despite the disappointment of the first game, it’s widely expected that Alisson will start in goal, with Marquinhos and Gabriel in the centre back roles.
Haiti Team News
Haiti manager Sebastien Migne’s biggest call will be on who partners Wilson Isidor in attack. After the battling performance against Scotland, it could be that Haiti name the same starting XI.
Speaking through a translator at the pre-match presser, Migne said: “Tomorrow we’ve got everything to gain in a match like this. It’s been 52 years since we last featured in a World Cup, and now we’re up against Brazil – we’ve got to live up to our fans’ expectations.
“It’s a privilege to be here, and I hope we can make the Haitian people proud of us.”
“We didn’t beat Scotland, but we showed that we deserve to be here,” he said.
“The objective hasn’t changed… The objective is to try to qualify, to present a good image and to show that we deserve our place in the next round – perhaps as third-placed team.”
“It would be absolute madness in Haiti if we won this match,” he added.
“When you’re Haitian, you face more difficult times than easy ones. But when you step into the world of football, you dream of a moment like this – facing Brazil at a World Cup.”
