The Dutchman had already removed Leipzig from his Instagram bio, fuelling speculation that his move to Stamford Bridge is edging closer. Negotiations between the clubs are at an advanced stage.

It’s been a busy summer for Enzo Maresca and the Chelsea sporting directors with several new signings, including Joao Pedro and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. Joao Felix and Noni Madueke, among others, have departed Stamford Bridge this summer. It now appears Jorrel Hato and Xavi Simons will be the next significant arrivals into Maresca’s talented Chelsea squad.
