Rumours continue to link Chelsea to another blockbuster move in this summer transfer window. Not settled with adding Joao Pedro, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and Estevao to their attacking lineup, they have been moving closer to bringing Xavi Simons in the door too. The RP Leipzig man’s recent social media activity has caused a flurry as he appears to be hinting at an exit.

The Dutch attacker has altered his Instagram profile to remove mentions of RB Leipzig from the account. While he kept the rest of the details like his Puma representation and his profile picture, the removal of his team’s profile has sent speculation into overdrive.

Not only that, but he already follows a number of Blues players on the platform. He also follows Leipzig which is interesting as he has yet to follow Chelsea on the social media site.
A Deal Near Completion?
Fabrizio Romano pretty recently opened up about the deal and reported that it has a 75% chance of happening. With this and Simons’ online activity, it is safe to assume that the deal is nearing its final stages with only the final details still to be sorted. It shouldn’t be too long before Romano gives the move the ‘Here We Go’ seal of approval.

That would see the Blues add the talented young attacker to their ranks in time to play some part in the upcoming friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan. The former PSG man can play out wide or through the middle, allowing for some flexibility in his playing style and tactical setups.
With his time in the Bundesliga producing a solid return of 21 goals and 23 assists in just 76 starts after a similarly impressive run in the Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven, he is a proven creator at senior level.
