The deal is reportedly worth up to £78 million with add-ons as part of the proposal. The clubs are expected to be in further contact on July 20 to finalise the add-ons part of the transfer, with the player making it clear he wants the move to Anfield and views it as an ‘absolute priority.

Qualities of Hugo Ekitike

Hugo Ekitike has previously been described as a ‘world-class talent,’ and rightfully so. One of his standout qualities is his ability to run in behind and stretch opposition defences. He’s also adept at dropping deep and linking up with his teammates.

Ekitike is a sharp finisher who doesn’t waste many chances and would thrive in a creative Liverpool team. He’s comfortable receiving the ball and running directly at defenders, making him a nightmare to play against. Darwin Nunez has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, with many Liverpool fans frustrated by his inconsistency in front of goal. Ekitike is more composed in those situations and, at 23, has huge potential upside.

The French forward has scored 26 goals and provided 14 assists in 64 games for Frankfurt. It looks increasingly likely that he will be Liverpool’s next signing. The question now is whether Ekitike can win over the Anfield faithful.
