Arsenal vs Bournemouth: Team News and Predicted Lineups

Arsenal Receive ‘Green Light’ in Pursuit of £100k-a-Week Star

Arsenal impressed at many points last season, including their memorable win over Real Madrid in the Champions League. The Gunners failed to win a major trophy during the 2024/25 season, losing to Paris Saint-Germain in Europe and failing to keep pace with Liverpool in the league. Mikel Arteta’s men have been heavily linked with Martin Zubimendi and Cristhian Mosquera of Valencia. David Ornstein has now reported that Noni Madueke has given Arsenal the “Green Light” and agreed personal terms with the North London club.

Noni Madueke Gives Green Light to Arsenal

Arsenal will need to strengthen to close the gap on Liverpool and Europe’s elite. At the time of writing, their only signing is Kepa Arrizabalaga from London rivals Chelsea. Zubimendi is expected to replace the soon-to-depart Thomas Partey.

According to Ornstein, there have been no club-to-club talks as of yet regarding Madueke, though Arsenal and Chelsea maintain a strong relationship when it comes to transfers. Chelsea, meanwhile, have been fined £26.7 million for financial fair play breaches and are reportedly still looking to strengthen their squad this summer.

The Future of Noni Madueke Amid Arsenal Interest

Chelsea have strengthened their attack with the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, so a Madueke departure looks more likely. Enzo Maresca has also spoken out on the England international’s future: “Noni has been very important for us. But my message to the players and to the club is that I want just players that are happy to be with us,” Maresca said.

“The ones that are not happy, they are free to go. Noni has been very good during the season.”

Adding another layer of intrigue, Chelsea have shown interest in Ethan Nwaneri’s situation, should the prospect fail to agree to a new deal with Arsenal. Talks are understood to hinge on guarantees over game time for Nwaneri.

There is no indication that his situation has any bearing on the potential Madueke deal, who is reportedly on 100k-per-week at Stamford Bridge.
