Steinburg claims that Johnson is one of many attacking players on their shortlist and that discussions over his potential acquisition are at an early stage. The update also mentions that the London side have talked about the possibility of adding players into a deal to sign the Wales international, valued at around £45 million by Forest.
It is also added that Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United have shown an interest in signing the 22-year-old this summer after he played a prominent role in helping his side avoid relegation from the Premier League last season.

How Can Johnson Fit In at Chelsea?
The Welshman is an exciting, pacey forward who proved his potential by excelling in the league for Forest last season. He can play as a right-winger, an attacking midfielder and even as a centre-forward if needed, with his versatility assured to make him an asset for Mauricio Pochettino if he moves to Stamford Bridge.

Johnson made 44 appearances for Cooper’s side in the previous campaign, scoring ten goals and providing three assists in all competitions, including eight in the Premier League. The 22-year-old was hailed as a “fantastic player” who has attracted interest this summer after proving his mettle in the top division. Chelsea only seem to have made early moves in their attempts to sign him, and it remains to be seen if they can get a deal over the line anytime soon.
