Fabrizio Romano has issued a massive update on Chelsea’s interest in Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia. Not only has the move been given his trademark “here we go” but he has reported that the midfielder “will be unveiled as Chelsea player this week”

Including add-ons the reported fee is £60 million for the teenager. Romano later clarified that the exact details are £53 million fixed with roughly £5 million in add-ons. With the fee out of the way it is expected that the player will be officially unveiled by the end of this week.

The player has already said yes to the Blues and was just awaiting an agreement between the two parties for the move to proceed.

Here We Go
With his trademark “here we go” given, the move is all but official. The medicals are scheduled to take place this week and will be one of the final steps to confirming the move. An agreement has been reached between the two teams which means there are very few steps left in completing this signing.

The Belgian is set to join new singing Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez in Mauricio Pochettino’s midfield. The three young players could form the backbone of the club’s midfield for many years to come, especially with two being more defensive-oriented, allowing Fernandez to use his full array of passes.
Chelsea have now made a slew of signings this summer including names like Robert Sanchez, Christopher Nlunku, Nicolas Jackson, and the aforementioned Caicedo. It has been a summer of spending for the side aiming to improve on a lower-half finish in the Premier League last term.
