‘Monster’ Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool Target ‘Focused On Brighton’ as Transfer Battle Heats Up

Moises Caicedo playing for Brighton against Leicester City

Arsenal recently became the latest club to enter the race for 21-year-old Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo, alongside Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool.

However, despite interest from all three of those clubs and the battle for his signature starting to heat up, the Ecuadorian has insisted that his full focus is on his current side, saying: “I’m focused on Brighton.

“I’m here, I’m focused on this club so things from outside don’t trouble me, nor does it take that focus away because I’m focused only on here. I only try to be focused on the club which opened the doors for me to be playing every week.”

A Chance to Make History

Fans of the seaside club will hope that what Caicedo says is true, as the team has a very good chance to make history this season.

Since they were founded in 1901, the Seagulls have never participated in any form of European football. But, at the halfway point of this Premier League campaign, Roberto De Zerbi’s men find themselves in sixth place on 31 points.

There is still a long way to go, but the club are in a very good position to go and book their place in a European competition for the first time ever. Caicedo will need to be at the top of his game if that is to happen.

Losing Another Key Player in Moises Caicedo

However, it does appear that Caicedo will be moving on from the club at some point in the near future. When sides of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool’s calibre come calling, it is very hard to turn them down.

Although, Brighton fans should not panic just yet.

There have been plenty of key players leaving the Amex in recent transfer windows – Marc Cucurella, Benjamin White, Neal Maupay, Yves Bissouma, Dan Burn and Leandro Trossard to name a few – but the team has bounced back every single time.

Caicedo himself, who was described by journalist Jonas Adnan Giæver as a “monster” in the summer, was a replacement for Bissouma, and it is likely that the club will find another hidden gem to replace the Ecuadorian too. For now, though, the midfielder insists he remains fully focused on the job at hand with Brighton.
