Jamal Musiala is part of the Germany predicted lineup

Start Sane? Germany Predicted Lineup vs Costa Rica in Group E Showdown

Group E slams to a close with Germany vs Costa Rica and Spain vs Japan, as not side is certain of qualification yet. Take a look at the Germany predicted lineup as Hansi Flick’s side takes on a stubborn Costa Rica side.

Germany Predicted Lineup vs Costa Rica

How Germany Have Lined-up Recently

Germany line up in a solid 4-2-3-1 formation, with Manuel Neuer starting in net behind Antonio Rudiger and Niklas Sule. David Raum and Thilo Kehrer play at wing back for the Germans, with Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka defending the back line.

Jamal Musiala starts out on the left of an attacking three, with Ilkay Gundogan connecting play in the centre. Serge Gnabry offers his services out on the right flank, behind Thomas Muller playing as a false nine.

Germany Recent Form and Tactics

Germany’s form hasn’t been excellent. A loss to Japan in the first match of the competition put Die Mannschaft under a lot of pressure, with a late Niclas Fullkrug goal required to keep the side in the match against Spain.

It’s notable that the team significantly improved after introducing a number nine. This goes somewhat against Hansi Flick’s all-action style of play whilst adding some more value to the squad at the top of the pitch. The side are unlikely to start this way, but expect to see changes if Germany struggle to break down the Costa Rican defence. We could expect to see Sane come in, as his creativity could be perfect for unlocking the low-lying defence.

Germany Injuries to Consider

Germany currently don’t have injuries to worry about, and no suspensions from yellow cards. The manager has a completely free choice of players for the battle with Costa Rica.
