Les Rouges are out of the World Cup after two consecutive defeats, with a match against Morocco to fight for their pride, more than anything. See Last Word on Football’s Canada predicted lineup for the last match in World Cup Group F.

Canada Predicted Lineup vs Morocco

How Canada Have Lined-up Recently

Canada play in a 4-4-2 formation, with Milan Borjan starting at the back. Kamal Miller and Steven Vitoria play at centre-back with Alistair Johnson at right-back and Richie Laryea at left-back. Atiba Hutchinson and Stephen Eustaquio start in the centre of the midfield.

The Canadian side play with a somewhat flexible front four. Alphonso Davies has space to roam on the left hand side with Tajon Buchanan keeping more structure on the right. The two flank an attacking duo of Jonathan David and Cyle Larin.

Canada Recent Form and Tactics

Canada’s World Cup form hasn’t been the most impressive. In spite of a strong performance against Belgium, the Canadians lost their first match, followed by a hammering from Croatia. Where Alphonso Davies and Jonathan David were unlucky to not reap any rewards against Belgium, the loss to Zlatko Dalic’s side was deserved.

A significant part of the issues John Herdman’s side is facing is the relative lack of defensive structure. The free-flowing open play at the top of the pitch is excellent for an effective Canadian attack, but means weakness at the back. That’s how Luka Modric was able to create so many good chances, with five passes into the final third on his own.
