AC Milan Are All in on Young Belgian Talent

AC Milan Are

AC Milan are all in on Belgian starlet Charles De Ketelaere. The Rossoneri board, including Paolo Maldini, are set to fly to Belgium tomorrow to meet with Club Brugge and complete the negotiations for the player, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Milan agreed to personal terms with De Ketelaere weeks ago and the only obstacle remaining is agreeing on a transfer fee with the Belgian side.

A Solid Fit

De Ketelaere looks to be a very solid fit on the Rossoneri. In 33 Jupiler Pro League matches last season, he scored 14 goals and provided seven assists. Although primarily a centre-forward, De Ketelaere is quite versatile and has seen appearances on the wings as well as the attacking midfield.

Milan are pretty much set at two attacking positions. Rafael Leao is a star on the left wing, while Ante Rebic provides strong depth.

Divock Origi was brought in as a striker, while Olivier Giroud is a true veteran presence and difference-maker. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is remaining with the club, although he’s recovering from a major injury.

This leaves an opening at the right wing and attacking midfield. Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers man the right wing. Neither are inspiring options, so De Ketelaere can see time there. Brahim Diaz lacked flair in the attacking midfield and often times lost his place to a central midfielder in Franck Kessie. The Ivorian midfielder, however, has departed to FC Barcelona. Like on the right wing, De Ketelaere can see time in the attacking midfield.

De Ketelaere’s attacking versatility will surely see him play multiple positions for Milan, should the Rossoneri acquire him, of course. He’s a bright young talent who will add to Milan’s riches in youth.
