Paris Saint-Germain Are Far From a Deal With Inter Milan for Coveted Centre-Back

Paris Saint-Germain Are

French champions Paris Saint-Germain are far from a deal with Italian giants Inter Milan for Milan Skriniar. PSG want Skriniar, but Inter will not accept their bid of £42.65 million (€50 million), according to Fabrizio Romano.

Inter do not want to sell Skriniar for that fee at the moment as they just missed out on a deal for centre-back Gleison Bremer.

Paris Saint-Germain Are Far From Closing Milan Skriniar Deal

An Excellent Centre-back

Skriniar has been one of the top defenders in all of Serie A for a couple of seasons now. He shined in Inter’s 2020/21 Scudetto-winning campaign, so it’s no surprise to see massive clubs such as PSG chasing his signature. PSG has shown interest throughout the transfer window. Inter, on the other hand, were hot on the heels of Bremer. Juventus took that deal away from Inter, so at the moment the Milanese club does not have a possible replacement for Skriniar.

PSG still holds solid centre-back depth, however. This includes the likes of Marquinhos (the club captain), an experienced veteran in Sergio Ramos, and other talents such as Presnel Kimpembe and Thilo Kehrer. Kimpembe, however, is attracting interest from Chelsea.

Skriniar is in the prime of his career. He routinely plays versus top strikers in Serie A, such as Dusan Vlahovic, Olivier Giroud, Ciro Immobile, and others. He knows what it takes to be successful and has shown that for multiple seasons. PSG are aware of the talent he possesses, so it’s no surprise to see their interest.
