Having Carla Ward as Your Manager Is a Guaranteed Bonus
Magill’s mind will of course be on Euro 2022, so it is an interesting time for this transfer to be announced. The Northern Ireland international will be in action tomorrow night as her country take on Ada Hegerberg and Norway. Magill’s new manager, Carla Ward, did an exceptional job with Birmingham City.
Following her departure, Birmingham City have since faced relegation out of the WSL which speaks to her importance to the club. She hasn’t had to travel far for her next job, landing the role at Aston Villa. It wasn’t the best of seasons for them, finishing ninth in the standings, but it was Ward’s first campaign. Magill joins a very strong squad which includes Lionesses goalkeeper Hannah Hampton plus the experience from names such as Remi Allen and Ruesha Littlejohn.
The Northern Ireland international has only really known Everton, first joining the Toffees back in 2013. She left her home country as a teenager and had a very long spell on Merseyside. Her next challenge sees her Magill join another ambitious club who won the Championship just a few years ago.

How the Northern Ireland International Fared at Everton
As previously mentioned, Magill wore the blue of Everton for a number of years. She has developed massively as both a player and a person during this sustained period. The frontline at Ward’s disposal is even stronger now with the thought of the Northern Ireland international linking up with Littlejohn and Alisha Lehmann being a fascinating one indeed.
Everton have faced a number of issues both on and off of the field in recent years with Magill being one of a few shining lights. Her country isn’t expected to do all that much this summer but she could be at the forefront of any potential success they enjoy. Continuing that forward, a big season awaits the 27-year-old for her first season in the claret and blue of Aston Villa.
