Chelsea Predicted Lineup for Premier League Clash Against Manchester United

How Chelsea Have Lined-up Recently

Thomas Tuchel is a tactical mastermind who constantly switches his teams to fit against the opponent. Chelsea have played two games in the league this past week against West Ham United and Arsenal. In both games, Tuchel used a three at the back system with only Thiago Silva starting successive fixtures in defence. In midfield, N’Golo Kante has started both games but Tuchel has rotated both his wingbacks and the other central midfield slot. Timo Werner and Mason Mount have started in the number ten role with either Romelu Lukaku or Kai Havertz occupying the striking role.

Chelsea lost the Arsenal game, giving up four goals but bounced back against West Ham to win 1-0.

Chelsea Injuries to Consider

Chelsea’s starting lineup will be affected by a couple of key injuries. Injuries to key personnel like Mateo Kovacic, Ben Chilwell, and Callum Hudson-Odoi, who will all miss the game according to the manager. The boss also confirmed a possible lack of defensive options with Antonio Rudiger, Reece James, and Andreas Christensen missing training, but could be available for the game. Ross Barkley is out of the squad with illness.

Chelsea Predicted Lineup

Chelsea will most likely start in a back three as they have for a majority of the season. Given how Tuchel has lined up in the past two games, it is most likely that the Blues will play with four across in front of the back three, a 10 and two strikers. Here is the Chelsea predicted lineup:

Edouard Mendy; Trevoh Chalobah, Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta; Ruben Loftus-Cheek, N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Marcos Alonso; Mason Mount; Kai Havertz, Timo Werner.
