Everton have made their final decision on who will be their next manager, with the Toffees having offered the job to former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, according to Matt Law of The Telegraph.

Lampard With a Mixed Record at Chelsea
The former midfielder took over at Chelsea in 2019 after a successful year with Derby County. He led the Rams to a sixth-place finish in the Championship, which was roughly the level at which they had been working over the last few years. This gained them qualification to the playoffs with Premier League promotion at stake, but Lampard’s side were unable to take advantage of the opportunity presented to them despite reaching the final.
With Chelsea, Lampard struggled. His status at Stamford Bridge played a large part in earning him the job during a time when many big teams were hiring former players as their head coaches. The legendary midfielder’s first season in charge in London saw his side qualify for the Champions League by the skin of their teeth, with the race for the top four having come right down to the final day of the season. Moreover, he was only able to lead his team to the round of 16 of Europe’s most prestigious club competition. It must also be noted that they were knocked out by eventual winners Bayern Munich.
Lampard will be brought in at Goodison Park with the hope that he can steady the ship. They have had many big names at the helm recently, but not even Champions League winning bosses have been able to restore Everton’s status as best of the rest in the Premier League, or even further that. Most recently, former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez had a stint with the Toffees, but his connection to their arch-rivals was a substantial hindrance and he lost his job after just half a season.
