Newcastle United are set to complete a trio of signings that will be hugely important in making sure they stay up this season, according to Luke Edwards of The Telegraph.

Newcastle United to Complete Vital Trio of Signings

Three Players Who can Make the Difference

The three individuals close to a move to Tyneside are Bruno Guimaraes, Dan Burn, and Eddie Nketiah.

Guimaraes has been on Newcastle’s radar for some time, but their pursuit of the Lyon’s Brazilian midfielder has heated up in recent days with a desperate need for the Magpies to get deals across the line. According to Fabrizio Romano, Guimaraes will have his medical with the Northern English side tomorrow in Brazil ahead of joining up with manager Eddie Howe at St James’ Park. He will provide some much-needed creativity from deep and give service to the likes of Chris Wood, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Callum Wilson.

Even further back, Dan Burn of Brighton and Hove Albion would arguably be the most important signing of the lot, albeit not the most aesthetically exciting. The Magpies’ defence has been appalling this season, and it is arguably their inability to stop goals flying past Martin Dubravka that has made them drop into the relegation zone, rather than trouble in the opposition’s final third. Burn, who stands at 6’6″ would provide a massive boost to Newcastle’s backline as they attempt to stop the flow of goals against them.

While the aforementioned two deals had been widely reported in recent weeks, very few reliable outlets were talking about Nketiah’s potential move to St James’ Park. With the Englishman having rejected a new contract at Arsenal and expressed his desire to leave the Emirates Stadium in early December, the prospect of him leaving North London does not come as too much of a surprise. The 22-year-old will hope to reignite his career which started with so much promise with more regular playing time, although he will likely be further down the pecking order than both Chris Wood and Callum Wilson.
