Gameweek 36 Fantasy Premier League Captaincy Dilemma
Gameweek 36 Fantasy Premier League Captaincy: The Options
Harry Kane
- Goals: 21
- Assists: 13
- FPL Points: 222
- FPL points in the last five matches: 31
- Price: £11.8
- Opponents: Wolverhampton Wanderers (home)
Mohamed Salah
- Goals: 20
- Assists: 5
- FPL Points: 205
- FPL points in the last five matches: 31
- Price: £12.7
- Opponents: West Bromwich Albion (away)
Despite scoring 20 goals this season, it still feels as if Mohamed Salah has had a poor season. However, the Egyptian has scored three goals in the last five matches and is just a goal away from the top scorer Harry Kane. Salah would love to win the golden boot for the third time.
Liverpool are still fighting for a top-four finish this season and Salah’s goals will be very much needed. He should fancy himself against an already-relegated West Brom side this week.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin
- Goals: 16
- Assists: 6
- FPL Points: 157
- FPL points in the last five matches: 27
- Price: £7.6
- Opponents: Sheffield United (home)
With two goals in the last two games, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is well and truly back amongst the goals. He has back-to-back home games coming up against Sheffield United and Wolves, so it is a very good time to have him in your squad. Captaining Calvert-Lewin is also not a bad idea this week as attackers have done very well against the Blades recently. Christian Benteke, Gareth Bale and Alexandre Lacazette have all scored big against them.
However, Everton’s squad will have to cope playing three matches in a week as they have a Thursday night game against Aston Villa to contend with before this match. Calvert-Lewin was born in Sheffield and played for Sheffield United before joining Everton. Will he hurt his local side this Sunday?
Other Options
Gareth Bale and Riyad Mahrez are also possible captaincy shouts if one wants to go a bit different. Bale has done well at home against lower-ranked sides recently with four goals in his last two home games. Under Ryan Mason, Bale seems to be a sure starter although he is unlikely to play the full 90 minutes.
Mahrez has had a very good season although his most impressive performances have come in the Champions League. The Algerian should start this week after getting a rest last time around. The fixture is quite promising for Manchester City and they might turn it on to celebrate their title win.
