No Interest Yet in Transfer For Preston North End Midfielder Ben Pearson

According to reports, there is currently no interest in a transfer move for Preston North End player Ben Pearson.

No Transfer Deal Yet for Ben Pearson

Out of Contract in the Summer

The midfielder is out of contract in the summer and can leave North End – despite being one of their best and most important players – for absolutely nothing.

Even worse for Lilywhites fans is that the player himself has claimed he doesn’t see a future for himself at Deepdale and will be looking to move on when he can. It means that any hopes of a potential new contract with Preston won’t happen.

Wanted By Scottish Side Celtic

Reports earlier in the window claimed that Pearson was wanted by Celtic, with the Scottish club entering talks to sign the player on a pre-contract agreement. This would mean that he would spend the remainder of the campaign at Deepdale before joining the Scottish Premiership outfit at the end of his contract.

However, nothing has since materialised about a potential deal and as for moves now, it has now been reported that even though Preston would ideally like to move the player on now and cash in while they can, there is no current interest in a deal.

Ben Pearson Could Be Available on Free Transfer

It comes as a surprise considering the way he has performed for Preston – the midfielder has cemented himself as arguably one of the best players at the club and is one of the best midfielders in the Championship. Perhaps teams would rather wait to snag the player on a free transfer, knowing full well that he won’t agree to new terms at North End.

However, Pearson is a player who offers a lot in the centre of the field and if he joined a team now, he would be sure to benefit them for the remainder of the current campaign.

Pearson though, for now, looks set to stay at Preston and in the Championship.
