West Bromwich Albion, Celtic and Brentford Target Preston North End Midfielder Ben Pearson

Preston North End’s Ben Pearson looks set to leave the club, with the player reportedly telling boss Alex Neil that his future is not with the Lilywhites.

This activity is bound to alert Celtic, Brentford and West Bromwich Albion who are all chasing the North End man.

Ben Pearson Set for Exit With Celtic, West Bromwich Albion and Brentford All Interested

Ben Pearson Linked With a Pre-Contract Switch to Celtic

The midfielder has been linked with a switch away from the side for some time now, with the rumours only ramping up this month due to the fact the player is out of contract in the summer.

It was reported earlier in the window that Celtic were in talks to bring the 26-year-old to the club as part of a pre-contract agreement that would see him make the move to Scotland at the end of the current campaign on a free transfer.

Talk of a move has since been quiet but he has also recently been linked with moves to Premier League side West Brom and Championship title-chasers Brentford.

Preston Wanted a New Deal for Midfielder

Preston would have liked to get the midfielder to agree a new deal at the club, as he remains arguably one of their best players.

However, it now appears that he could be on his way out the exit door at Deepdale. The player was not included in North End’s squad against Bristol City, and speaking about the decision, manager Alex Neil said to the club’s Twitter: “Ben would have been fit to be in the squad today but we’ve signed some new lads who need to get minutes now.”

Proven as a Championship Midfielder

He added: “He’s made it clear to us his future doesn’t lie here come the end of the season so I need to give the other lads game time.”

Pearson has proven himself to be a formidable Championship midfielder and it looks like he could be set to seal a move elsewhere in the summer transfer window – that is unless North End try and cash-in on him now while they can.
