Scunthorpe United Announce Four New Signings

Kelsey Mooney Joins

The 21-year-old joins the Iron after a spell in non-league with Hereford Town. He scored five goals for the Bulls last season, as they finished 16th in the National League North.

The youngster does have previous EFL experience. He joined Cheltenham Town on loan from Aston Villa in 2018, scoring just once in nine appearances.

Second Addition Up Front

Mooney will be supported up front by Aaron Jarvis, who has signed a two-year deal.

He makes the move to Glanford Park after being let go by Championship side Luton Town.

Jarvis failed to make an impact during his time at Kenilworth Road. He only made five appearances in total for the Hatters, and spent most of his time out on loan.

The 23-year-old targetman spent last season on loan with National League side Sutton United, where he scored three goals in 25 games.

Strengthening in Midfield

The Iron have also strengthened in midfield. Lewis Spence has made the move to Glanford Park, signing a two-year deal.

Spence is making the move down south after leaving Scottish Premiership club Ross County. The 24-year-old made 15 appearances last season, as County finished tenth in the Scottish top-flight.

The Scotsman’s move to the League Two club is subject to clearance.

Emmanuel Onariase Returns to the Football League

Scunthorpe have also confirmed that they have signed defender Emmanuel Onariase.

The 24-year-old has joined the club on a two-year deal after leaving Dagenham & Redbridge.

Onariase has spent much of his career in the Football League after coming through the West Ham United youth system.

After leaving the Hammers, he then joined Brentford. From there, he enjoyed a loan spell with Cheltenham Town before joining Rotherham United.
