Impressive Rossiter

Rossiter played 19 times for Fleetwood while on loan from Rangers last season in a successful loan spell, making one assist.

The 23-year-old midfielder produced a number of exciting, energetic performances under Joey Barton towards the end of the 2019/20 season.

Rossiter initially struggled at Highbury Stadium, suffering an injury against Tranmere Rovers in late November. He was out for nearly five months.

He signed a one year contract with Fleetwood with the option to extend for 12 months at the end of next season. He will wear the number 16 shirt, which he wore during his loan spell last season.

Rossiter ‘Absolutely Delighted’

Speaking to Fleetwood’s official site about the move, Rossiter said: “I am absolutely delighted to get this over the line. I’m looking forward to getting back fit and getting cracking again.

“It’s been a great year, I’ve loved being with all the lads, everyone has been brilliant with me.

“Obviously I suffered the injury in November but everybody has been first class with me and I can’t wait to repay the faith everybody showed in me.

“I’m feeling really good, I’m back on the grass, just building up my fitness and hopefully it’s not too long before I’m back on the pitch helping the lads out.

“My goal is just to get back to full fitness as quickly as I can, get back to playing as quickly as I can and get back to helping the lads. Hopefully, that’s not too far away.”

Rossiter came through Liverpool’s youth ranks, making appearances for the Reds U18 and U23 squads. However, Rangers moved for the midfielder in 2016, but he failed to break into the first-team.

He then spent time out on loan with Bury during the 2018/19 season. He made 16 appearances for the club, scoring a goal and providing an assist before returning to Rangers at the end of the season.
