The transfer window may be shut and the season well underway, but there is still plenty of gossip around over what could happen come the January window and beyond. Here’s a round-up of the latest news and rumours from around Europe, including Arsenal’s interest in Dominik Szoboszlai.
English Transfer News and Rumours
Arsenal Tracking Dominik Szoboszlai and Erling Braut Haaland
Unai Emery’s Arsenal are tracking Red Bull Salzburg duo Dominik Szoboszlai and Erling Braut Haaland, according to James Benge of football.london. The pair featured in Salzburg’s exhilarating 6-2 Champions League success over Genk on Tuesday night, with Haaland notching a hat-trick in the first 45 minutes.
Szoboszlai also found the net in the game, and the Gunners’ interest in him goes further back into the summer according to Benge and that an official approach has been made. This proposed move would see Szoboszlai move at the end of the current season, although Juventus and Inter Milan have also been linked with the teenager.
Blackburn Rovers Sign Former Tottenham Hotspur Midfielder
Championship side Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lewis Holtby. The 29-year-old was a free agent after leaving German side Hamburg at the end of last season and joins the Ewood Park side on a two-year deal.
Holtby has Champions League experience with Schalke before joining Spurs for £1.5 million in January 2013. He made 42 appearances in North London while also having loan spells at Fulham and Hamburg, before joining the latter permanently for £4.5 million in July 2015.

Spurs Considering Jack Clarke Recall
Tottenham are considering whether to recall Jack Clarke from his loan spell at Leeds United after becoming concerned over his lack of playing time, according to James Ayles of Mail Online.
Clarke joined Spurs from Leeds earlier in the summer but was loaned back to the Championship club in order to continue his development under Marcelo Bielsa. However Clarke, who was one of Leeds’ young stars last season, is yet to feature in the league so far this campaign.
Leeds are only permitted to have five loanees in any matchday squad, and with six on the books at the club currently, Clarke is finding it hard to climb the pecking order. With just two Carabao Cup games under his belt this season, Spurs could bring the deal to a premature end this January.
Everton and Celtic in David Parkhouse Chase
Everton have joined Celtic in the race for young Sheffield United attacker David Parkhouse, according to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke. Parkhouse is currently on loan at Irish side Derry City but has earned positive reviews so far from his time in Ireland, prompting the Toffees to take a look at him.
O’Rourke had previously reported that Celtic’s interest in Parkhouse was strong, while his report in Everton’s interest suggests that Blackburn Rovers are also keeping tabs on the teenager.
Parkhouse has scored 18 goals so far this season, including a four-goal haul in the EA Sports Cup semi-final success over Waterford.
