BlueCo Startlet Lined Up for Future Chelsea Move Amid Interest from European Giants

Chelsea’s 2025/26 season continues to cause the club’s supporters plenty of heartbreak. The late collapse against Paris Saint-Germain was followed by a turgid 1-0 home defeat against Newcastle. Many Chelsea fans have made it clear they are not happy with the BlueCo project at Stamford Bridge. However, according to Graeme Bailey, Chelsea’s hierarchy appear determined to continue with their plan and are lining up a move for French 18-year-old Rayane Messi.

Chelsea Line Up Move for Rayane Messi

Messi is being lined up for a move to Stamford Bridge, amid interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

The 18-year-old is on loan at Neom in Saudi Arabia, from Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg. BlueCo have shown their desire to snap up many of the best young talents in Europe and beyond. BlueCo identified and signed Messi in 2024, with the player having built a huge reputation as one of the most exciting prospects in France.

The 18-year-old is a graduate of France’s prestigious national academy at Clairefontaine. He moved to Dijon at just 14, and accelerated through the ranks with ease, making his first-team debut at 16. The experience he will earn at Neom, and previously at Pau, will be invaluable to his development.

The Future for Rayane Messi

Despite only being 18, his 22 appearances across Ligue 2 and the Saudi Pro League have furthered his development and attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Messi brings versatility to any attack, playing centrally or out wide. He has plenty of pace and is already adept at creating separation from defenders before sprinting away. He’s an all-action player who, if he continues to progress, will entertain supporters.

At just 18, it remains to be seen how far Messi can go, but with pace, skills, and an eye for goal, it appears BlueCo don’t want to lose the youngster. A prominent role with Strasbourg would make sense for next season, before moving to Chelsea the following season.
