During the pre-match press conference, Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler said he was “confident” Yasin Ayari would be fit to face Arsenal after returning to training. Hurzeler also said: “There are no new big injury concerns,” but “some small issues” may stop “one or two players” from returning.

The Brighton manager also teased some changes to the starting XI, saying they “need fresh legs” and “players with a lot of energy” against the Gunners.

In their pre-match press conference, Mikel Arteta discussed Kai Havertz, and said, “So he’s done a part of the session, we will have to wait and see whether he’s available and in which condition. The rest I don’t think there will be anybody else.”

The Gunners boss confirmed: “Ben (White) is not available.”

Arteta also teased a huge boost for the Gunners, with the potential return of Martin Odegaard, saying: “We will see.” When quizzed further on his status, Arteta said: “Yeah, we have to wait and see how comfortable he is to do certain actions.”

The Arsenal boss also gave a positive update on Declan Rice: “He was much better today. Obviously, we haven’t really trained because we have only two days to prepare the game. So, hopefully, it’s going to be better tomorrow.”
