Team News, Form and Predicted Line-Up as Oxford United Travel to Norwich

Oxford United will be looking to take advantage of Norwich’s poor home form when the sides meet at Carrow Road on Tuesday.

The Canaries, under Liam Manning, had lost all seven home games in the league this season which contributed to the former Oxford head coach’s sacking at the start of the international break.

Away from home, Norwich have nine points from nine games but suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat at Birmingham in what was Philippe Clement’s first match in charge. The Canaries haven’t won in any of their last 12 games, losing nine.

Oxford have as many points on the road as they do at Grenoble Road and will be looking to take advantage of Norwich’s poor home form. The U’s returned from the international break with a credible draw against high-flying Middlesbrough last time out but are without a win in four.

Gary Rowett could also be without skipper Cameron Brannagan after he was forced off in the first half against Boro, while Brodie Spencer and Matt Phillips are still sidelined. However, Jack Currie made a welcome return and played the full 90 minutes on Saturday.

Norwich are without Benjamin Chrisene, Jose Cordoba, Ante Crnac, Papa Amadou Diallo, Gabriel Forsyth, Liam Gibbs and Lucien Mahovo.

Josh Sargent is Norwich’s top scorer with five but he hasn’t found the net in 12 league game, despite netting all five in the opening four. Will Lankshear also has five goals for the U’s but has scored twice in the last five, both of which came away from home.

Oxford were unbeaten in the two meetings between the two sides last season, winning 2-0 at home on the opening day before a 1-1 draw at Carrow Road in the reverse fixture.

Gary Rowett has lost three times from 12 meetings when facing up against the Canaries but he also boasts two victories at Carrow Road.
