Every Sunderland Player Heading to the 2026 World Cup

Sunderland Predicted Lineup vs Chelsea

Rightback: Trai Hume
The versatile fullback is expected to return to right back after playing at left back against Wolves, helping to keep a clean sheet.

Central Defence: Nordi Mukiele

Played at right back last weekend but should return to the centre for this game. Scored his first goal for the Black Cats against Wolves and has an impressive 7.58 average match rating so far. Possesses a dangerous long throw.

Central Defence: Dan Ballard
A rock-solid defender who is always willing to put his body on the line to stop the opposition from scoring. A huge threat at set pieces.

Central Defence: Omar Alderete

Continued his impressive start to the season against Wolves, and at around £10 million, is a bargain. Another player who can cause problems from set plays in the opposition area.

Leftback: Reinildo
Available again after suspension, the ex-Atletico Madrid defender is a natural on the left side and could come straight back into the team.
