Pre-season is now complete, and one of the main takeaways from the games is how talented Louis Page is. The now 17-year-old, born in Lutterworth, stole the show in Leicester City’s opening friendly as he netted a quick brace. All the attention now turns to the opening day clash with Sheffield Wednesday at the King Power Stadium, but Page could be Cifuentes’ secret weapon.
Leicester City’s Next Talent: Louis Page
Louis Page’s Career So Far
Despite being within football for just over eight years, Page’s ties to the game run much longer. His father, Dom, was also a footballer and played for the likes of Wigan Athletic. He joined the Foxes aged nine and has remained ever-present since.
The youngster is a first-year scholar and a prominent figure of the club’s Under-18 and 21 teams over the past season. For the two squads, he made 25 appearances, with four goals and three assists from midfield.
Along the way, he also played a pivotal part in the club’s runs in the Adidas GA Cup, EFL Trophy, and FA Youth Cup. His impressive performances led to the midfielder picking up the club’s academy player of the year for 2024/25.

Even before this season, Page played a prominent role in the under-16s PL Cup win versus Manchester City. As a result, the youngster has also earned caps for England at youth level. Since first appearing for the Under-17s back in November 2024, he has featured eight times with one goal. The Guardian even acknowledged the midfielder in their ‘Next Generation Premier League top 20‘ article.
How Does Louis Page Suit Leicester City
A terrific box-to-box profile, with a well-rounded skill set. Page has a stellar left foot and can play any role in the midfield. When playing for England, he often plays on the left of a double pivot, with the aim of breaking up play. Meanwhile, for the Foxes, he has often played as a number 10, or in his more well-suited number eight role.

Some of his key attributes include his ability to press, escape pressure, and score goals. When looking at his pressing, he has been a valuable asset for all the sides he has played for. A goal away at Norwich City U21S last season proved this, as he brilliantly curved his run to block the passing lane, which led to a goal. His intelligence and timing for when to trigger have also been excellent, and even led to his goal for England.
Aside from this, press resistance is another asset that the wonderkid offers. On multiple occasions with the first team, he was able to escape pressure and help his side play through the press. His quick feet and close control are key in these situations, especially against tough physical opposition.
Physicality, Stamina, and Finishing Ability Key Attributes
Moreover, physicality is also significant when jumping up the age groups seamlessly. Page has always proved to be physically ready, being strong in both aerial and ground duels. This once again emphasises his well-rounded nature and how important he can be in all areas of the pitch.
A final side of Page’s game that stands out is his penetrating runs into the box. He can make late-arriving runs and get on the end of crosses due to his timing and movement around the edge of the box. There are many examples of this, including both of his goals for the senior squad. Even when in this position, he doesn’t struggle and is often able to find the net through terrific finishing.
