Aston Villa Predicted Lineup vs Manchester United for Final Day

This is an Aston Villa predicted lineup for their Premier League clash with Manchester United. This is the final outing of the season for both sides and only one has anything to play for. The Villans know that anything but a win puts their faith in other team’s hands. If they want to secure Champions League football for the next term then they’ll have to show up here ready to win and win big in case they need to overturn a goal difference gap.

How Aston Villa Have Lined Up Recently

Emi Martinez has been the first-choice goalkeeper with a relatively settled back four where Lucas Digne, Ian Maatsen, Matty Cash, Pau Torres, and Ezri Konsa are the main options. Tyrone Mings had a run in the side when Torres was injured but has ceded his place since his teammates’ return. In defensive midfield Boubacar Kamara and Amadou Onana have been the main pivot in the absence of Youri Tielemans.

Up front, Marco Asnesio has locked down one of the three spots behind the striker. Morgan Rogers, John McGinn, and Jacob Ramsey have also come in on the wings. Ollie Watkins has regained his spot as the main striker option since Marcus Rashford’s injury.

Aston Villa Recent Form & Tactics

Unai Emery has been pretty consistent in his use of the 4-2-3-1 setup. He’s made the occasional change to player roles within that, briefly starting a more natural CM in the number ten role as an example, but recently he’s gone back to basics. As of now, the pivot is two energetic ball-winners with three creative attackers supporting Watkins’ runs.

The Vilans are looking quite strong going into this one. They’ve won three in a row in the league without conceding a single goal. Back-to-back losses to Manchester City and then Crystal Palace in the FA Cup have spurred them on to play well. This has happened a few times this season where poor results and form have been followed by massive bumps in their output. Whether they are able to continue this good run going into this tie with United or not remains to be seen.

Aston Villa Injuries to Consider

According to PremierInjuries, there are two absentees. Emery didn’t provide any new updates in his pre-match conference so it is safe to assume both are still sidelined for this one.
