‘Expected to Leave’: Manchester United Set to ‘Finance New Signings’ With Sale of ‘Future Star’

Various media outlets have confirmed what many may have predicted about the future of Alejandro Garnacho, that Manchester United are likely to be selling their academy product this summer in order to help balance the books. Whilst the youngster has had some off-the-field difficulties, he has always looked like a potential “future star”, and it will be disappointing to see the Argentinian depart without leaving a legacy at Old Trafford.

Manchester United to Potentially Sell Alejandro Garnacho This Summer

Garnacho Sale to Fund New Signings

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Garnacho is “expected to leave” the club this summer as long as United receive a “good proposal” for both themselves and the player. The winger has attracted interest in previous windows and is generally rated as a player with a very high ceiling, and so commanding a fee to please the hierarchy shouldn’t be too difficult.

Romano also disclosed that this sale would be in order to “finance new signings”, presumably to help head coach Ruben Amorim instil his philosophy better. He continues to reveal that Garnacho is not the only asset in the shop window, with other “certain players” up for sale as well.

David Ornstein explained that it was Amorim himself that told Garnacho to “find a new club”, whilst he also told the squad that he will be staying.

Where Could Garnacho Go?

Garnacho could stay in England: he was linked to other top Premier League clubs in January such as Chelsea. Whilst it remains to be seen whether the Blues are still interested, this would be a questionable move as Enzo Maresca already has a plethora of forward talents at his disposal.

Another club interested in the previous window was Napoli. The Azzurri have just won the Scudetto making it their second league title in the last three years, after over a 30-year drought.

Regardless of whether Garnacho stays in England or moves to the continent, he will surely make a positive impact and continue his impressive trajectory.
