Chelsea Schedule Talks for £50 Million-Rated ‘Phenomenal’ Forward Signing

Chelsea have not been able to secure any signings yet in the 2025 January transfer window, but it seems that they are looking into an ambitious move for Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho.

Chelsea To Hold More Talks For Alejandro Garnacho Signing From Manchester United

How Much Could Garnacho Cost Chelsea?

The Telegraph’s Matt Law has reported that the Blues are going to hold further talks for the possible signing of the 20-year-old winger, who is one of the three attacking players on their transfer wishlist. It’s claimed that along with the Argentine forward, Bayern Munich man Mathys Tel and Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens are also on their wishlist.

Garnacho’s agent was in attendance in Chelsea’s win over Wolves at Stamford Bridge, but the journalist claims that that wasn’t on the invitation of the club’s owners. Law further states that the Red Devils are ready to play hard ball over the possible transfer of Garnacho, as they’ve made it clear of not having any intention of a cut-price deal or a player exchange transfer involving individuals they aren’t interested in.

The journalist also states that Chelsea, alongside Napoli (who are also interested in him) are making checks on Garnacho’s temperament before deciding whether to push forward with the move. It’s further claimed that there is a feeling that United would demand £50 million to sell their young winger in the winter window.

How Can Garnacho Fit In At Chelsea?

The Blues have a pretty good working relationship with Manchester United, having signed Jadon Sancho on loan from them in the 2024 summer window. They now seem to be looking to further strengthen that left-wing position with the signing of another quality young winger. Garnacho can play on the right-wing too, but is at his best on the left side and has earned his reputation with his heroics for the Red Devils in recent seasons.

The 20-year-old can easily play in the left-wing role for the Blues and be rotated with Sancho in that position. He has eight goals and five assists in 32 appearances for Manchester United so far this season and also won the Puskas award at the 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony for his sensational overhead kick goal against Everton in the 2023/24 season. Garnacho, who was hailed as “phenomenal” earlier this season, could strengthen Chelsea’s left wing but will be a tough signing to pull off.
