Leicester City’s woes came to the forefront yet again at the weekend as they were dismantled by four goals to nil away in Merseyside. This Friday, February 7, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side once again travel up North to Manchester as they look to progress in the FA Cup. How Leicester City Have Lined-up Recently
Last time out, the familiar 4-2-3-1 formation was utilised by the Foxes but was once again picked apart.

Mads Hermansen returned from injury last time out in between the sticks. Wout Faes and Jannik Vestergaard made up a centre-back partnership, with Caleb Okoli replacing the Dane after an hour. Viktor Kristiansen and James Justin provided the width from full-back with Woyo Coulibaly coming off the bench. Meanwhile, Harry Winks and Boubakary Soumaré reprised their roles in the double pivot.

Jordan Ayew retained his position off the right, as Brighton loanee Facundo Buonanotte was an unused substitute. On the opposite side, Bobby Decordova Reid made back-to-back starts for the first time since August. Then, in the centre, Bilal El Khannouss was once again at the heart of the Foxes in the attacking phases. Leading the line lately has been Jamie Vardy, but Patson Daka replaced him after an hour against the Toffees.
Leicester City’s Recent Form and Tactics
A 4-0 defeat last time out emphasised the need for the Foxes to improve after a jubilant win away at Tottenham. Yet another defeat leaves the club in 18th and struggling to see where points come from. With just one win in their last nine league games, Van Nistelrooy’s squad seem to be in major trouble.

Moyes’ side got off to a perfect start in the Saturday afternoon clash as they scored twice in just six minutes. The first 45 would eventually get even better for the home side as Beto made it three. This control of the game would continue into the second half as Everton maintained their lead and even scored in the 90th minute.

It was more of the same issues with defensive errors leading to goals on many occasions. Whilst being defensively poor, Van Nistelrooy’s side also seems to lack the ability going forward to really trouble sides. Huge change will need to happen in the coming weeks if they want to stay up but after a lacklustre transfer window, all hope seems to be lost.
Leicester City Injuries to Consider
There are a couple of light injuries to some of the Dutchman’s players but he didn’t reveal who at his press conference. Hermansen recently returned and started last week, while Wilfred Ndidi is also available. Ricardo Pereira could also be back soon as he is said to be progressing well.
