Martínez Suffers ACL Injury
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Martínez – who reportedly earns 120k per week has torn his ACL and that his season is “now over” due to the injury.
In the final fifteen minutes of Man Utd’s clash with Crystal Palace, the defender was involved in a duel with Ismaila Sarr, resulting in him leaving the game.
After the final whistle, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim admitted to the media that the injury had been “serious.” Now, it seems that the worst fears of the 27-year-old have come true.

This setback is the latest in a string of health-related problems for the injury-prone Argentine.
Martínez missed the final three months of 2023 after he aggravated a foot injury from the previous campaign. His return would then last for only another three fixtures before he picked up a knee injury.
More Misery for Manchester United
Martínez’s injury worsened the afternoon for Man Utd. The team lost 2-0 to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford and sit in the middle of the table. This is another roadblock to their progression under Amorim, whose system with three central defenders has caused a stir from critics in the Premier League.
This injury also arrives at an inopportune moment. The club have made two transfers to reinforce their defence. But at the tail end of the winter window, it might be too late to acquire an ideal replacement.
