Chelsea's Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku celebrate goal

Chelsea Predicted Lineup vs Manchester City for January 25

This is a Chelsea predicted lineup for their Premier League clash against Manchester City. The two shades of blue are two of the only clubs to win the title in the past decade so there’s always a major feel to any meetings between them. A Win at Wolves offered a rebound for Enzo Maresca who will need a win to keep the momentum going here.

Enzo Fernandez, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Romeo Lavia, and Caicedo have started at the base of midfield with injuries causing a lot of shuffling in that area. In the attacking part of the pitch, Nicolas Jackson has been the striker with Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke, and Jadon Sancho in support.

Chelsea Recent Form and Tactics

The Blues have just ended a poor league run with a win against Wolves on Monday. Before that they hadn’t had a victory in the competition since Brentford in mid-December. An FA Cup win was their only reprieve from the poor stretch which saw them lose to Ipswich and Fulham. Depending on your perspective you could note the positive that the team is unbeaten in their last four, even if two draws should have been wins.

Throughout the season, Maresca has remained consistent with his fluid 4-2-3-1 into a  3-2-4-1 in possession with Cucurella usually inverting, either into attacking midfield, or a deeper position. The mechanics of the system tweak from match to match based on the availability of Lavia and other factors.

Chelsea Injuries to Consider

There were vague updates on the status of some players who missed the Wolves outing with the manager indicating that Enzo and Colwill could be back. Lavia is definitely still out while Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana are still injured. Mykhailo Mudryk remains unavailable due to his suspension.
